leading position
According to IMS Research, Axis
has increased its global market
share for network cameras to
33.5% (up from 32% the previous
year). The 2008 edition of the
annual IMS Research report "The
World Market for CCTV & Video
Surveillance Equipment"
positions Axis again as the
clear market leader in the
network camera category. Axis
has climbed two positions in the
surveillance equipment category
to #6 worldwide and is now
positioned at #3 in the category
for all cameras (previously 4).

AXIS Q1755 Network Camera
Available January 2009
- AXIS Q1755 Network Camera is
Axis' first HDTV network camera,
offering outstanding HDTV image
quality in compliance with the
SMPTE standard. The camera
delivers HDTV 1080i or 720
resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio
and supports both H.264
compression and Motion JPEG in
full frame rate. Additional
features include:
> 10x optical/12x digital zoom
> Auto focus
> Day/night mode
> Power over Ethernet
> Built-in slot for an SDHC card
> Video motion detection
> Audio detection
> Camera tampering detection
Additionally, AXIS Q1755
introduces a new Gatekeeper
functionality which
automatically zooms in when
there is activity in the scene,
and then zooms out after a
preset time interval.

AXIS M10 Network Camera
Series
Available January 2009 -
These smart-looking,
small and affordable AXIS M10
Network Cameras are ideal for
securing locations such as small
businesses, boutiques,
restaurants, hotels or
residences. AXIS M1011 offers
superior video quality in its
class at 30 frames per second in
VGA resolution. AXIS M1011-W
adds a wireless interface
(IEEE802.11g). AXIS M1031-W
additionally features a passive
infrared (PIR) sensor for
detecting movements even in the
dark, a white LED for
illuminating the scene at an
event, and two-way audio with
integrated microphone and
speaker. All cameras in the AXIS
M10 Series provide multiple
streams in H.264 as well as
Motion JPEG and MPEG-4 Part 2.

High-definition television
(HDTV) image quality
HDTV has experienced enormous
success in recent years, driven
by the consumer electronics
market and its shift from
CRT-based television sets to
LCD- and plasma-based TV
screens. Adoption of HDTV into
